Keys to Confidence
After deep thought, I’ve been able to define confidence as the feeling we get when we have the ability to be completely positive about our skills, strengths, logics, and intelligence.
Through my many personal experiences I’ve been able to construct a formula that will tactfully increase the ability to intellectually analyze any situation and wisely adapt to remain relative, informative, and engaging.
The first step is preparation. This would include things like research into targets, trends, competitors, clients, companies, or potential employers; with regards to all scenarios. This will ensure that you know exactly what you are saying; how you are saying it; and most importantly, who you’re saying it to.
Along with being prepared, it is important to habitually practice solid organizational skills. This would include things like file/document organization; and time management. This will assure that you are able to plan something from beginning to end; which will allow you to exercise the researched information, and thus create smoother situations.
The third ingredient is communication. It is crucial to understand that effective communication is 95% physical. Becoming conscious of posture, facial/hand gestures, and eye contact will guarantee that the person you are communicating with will understand, relate, and engage in what you are saying.
The last and most significant component is control. Personally, I think control comes from the ability to combine the first three factors and play all of them to your advantage. The key to control is adaptation; adaptation is easily achieved when you can prepare, organize, and communicate for any situation.
Confidence is essentially the result of being absolutely comfortable with your adaptation abilities and skills.
